To be very honest with you, for me, making music and books is going to happen because it must. Getting all of that into the world is a bit of a different story, though. There's web management, marketing (ugh), business setup and maintenance (taxes...yeah...those), and a littany of other considerations that don't exist if these get made and just live in my personal accounts shared with close friends. What I'm doing here, though, is meant to be shared, so what you're purchasing, in reality, is my time. I'd love for this to be my full time job, and in the early 2000s I set out to do exactly that...then life happened. Marriage, children, a demanding IT job...just...life... Trust me, I've crunched the numbers on what it would take for me to decouple from my current career, and those numbers aren't small! Lol. With that said, I currently have a serious back catalog of work ready to be organized and put into play for all of you, years worth, with more being made all of the time. One of the things I'll be striving to do here is to replicate and scale some of those interactions I currently have in the world when this work gets brought up. "Oh...you're a guitarist? Cool!" and then 20 minutes later I'm deeply embroiled in a conversation with a colleague who bought a guitar a few months ago at the age of 39 and thinks they're going to post a few videos on Facebook/Instagram/whatever and make a gazillion dollars... I wish it were that simple, and I never discourage those folks, but it just ain't so easy. The barrier for entry into this market is lower than its ever been, and there's certainly advantages there, but making a perfect song...and whatever it is very well may be absolute perfection...probably isn't enough...probably. I'm sure there's lightning in a bottle scenarios out there and I'm not claiming to have ever written a perfect song, but out of the 80/90/100+ I've recorded, some of them are really stinkin good, gotten magnificent reviews, feedback from folks that the lyrics changed/saved their life...all those sorts of things...and that feels good/makes it all worthwhile. In the same breath, though, it just doesn't scale... I'm rambling. Lol. Moving on!
